F-4U Corsair - Tree tops Yipeee!
Vought F4U Corsair. Carrier-capable (though troublesome at low speeds) fighter aircraft that served in World War II and Korea. The most capable carrier-based fighter-bomber of World War II with the U.S. Navy counting an 11:1 kill ratio. Along with being a formidable fighter, the Corsair proved an excellent fighter-bomber and served almost exclusively in this latter role in Korea. Japanese allegedly nicknamed it "Whistling Death" for the noise made by airflow through the oil cooler air intakes.
