This is more of sharing my thoughts than my deisgn Labeling It's my first time to try a powder blast text effect on ps.I chose to type the word label cause while talking with someone about my problems I realized that most of them were beacuse of LABELING. We label ourselves with descriptions-that might not even be true- like "fat" "ugly" "nerd" "worthless" "insecure" "not good/cool enough" and the list goes on. Even some choose to label themselves with mental illnesses! If you have anxiety or depression or any other illness they don't have to be a word to describe you. Those words shouldn't cross your mind when you think of yourself.Other than the trauma caused my negative labels finding them(whether postive or negative) is a struggle. Labeling's significance is the first problem. Society tied labeling strongly to one's clear identity so if you don't have a label you don't have an identity. I saw senior titles as an inexplicit form of labeling. I'm a senior and I'm panicking over choosing a senior title beacuse I can't see how can I describe myself with just one word(which will most likely be about how I look/behave or my grades)? Can a whole human being be just one thing?? I think this concept is degrading and stereotyping. Labeling's effects is also why things are worse. I think labeling is one of the main reasons for self-doubt and maybe mental illnesses . The effects of labeling are some fcking self-reinforcing cycles: Those who label themsleves affect their mental health negatively and continue to do so by adding a "mentally ill" label! My 80 year old grandpa defied labeling in his own way. He has some health issues but he subconsciously refuses to admit that.(some might say it's denial but I see it more of a defiance to conformity:he doesn't think he should Identify or label himself as ill)So technically he's sick but his mind doesn't believe it consequently his body didn't (partialy though). .
