Getting to Know You Student Survey for Middle School: This freebie is a survey intended to be used in order to get to know students at the beginning of the school year. Sometimes we ask our students questions about their favorites and other ice breaker type of information at the beginning of the year. This survey is different than those because it asks the questions that are going to help you get to know your student as a learner and have vital information about each student moving forward.
Middle school students enjoy helping in the classroom. Simulate a real-world experience by having students apply for and perform jobs in your middle school classroom. Rather than have tasks assigned to them (like in elementary school), students are asked to consider their qualifications for a job and will be matched to jobs that they are suited for and are interested in doing.
Middle school bulletin board idea: "Believe in your " Have each student take a selfie and put it up with a that describes them. "Do something today for which your future self will thank you." The kids love seeing their faces in the hallway and it builds a grade-level community too.
